MOV8 Real Estate’s Year in Review – 2015

MOV8 Real Estate’s Year in Review

This year marked MOV8’s 8th birthday, and from record sales to award ceremonies, it’s been quite a year. Here, we take a look back at some of the highlights from 2015.

Number 1 for Property Sales in Edinburgh and the Lothians

As we speed towards the end of 2015, property sales across Edinburgh and the Lothians have remained strong. Throughout the year, the number of homes changing hands has been at its highest level since the onset of the ‘credit crunch’ in 2008. The latest figures released by ESPC show that between January and November 2015, the number of homes sold in east central Scotland rose by 11.8% compared to the same period in 2014. For the second year in a row, more people have trusted MOV8 Real Estate to sell their property than any other solicitor estate agent in Edinburgh and the Lothians. Over the course of 2015, MOV8 has sold over 1,200 properties and has put over 1,100 on the market, this is something we are extremely proud of, and we are looking forward to helping even more property selling clients in 2016. If you are thinking of selling in 2016, you can arrange your free property valuation or selling quote today. MOV8 Real Estate is also offering Half Price Home Reports until 31 January 2016, potentially saving property sellers hundreds of pounds. Just call 0345 646 0208 or email [email protected] and we will organise an appointment at your convenience. Our Charitable Work

Corstorphine Primary School Project Play

During 2015 MOV8 Real Estate has been working with Project Play, a parent-run group at Corstorphine Primary School, to help them to achieve their dream of creating a state-of-the-art playground for the pupils of the school as well as children in the wider local community. Last year, we donated £5,000 to the project but we also gave them a promise; to help them raise a further £5,000 towards their goal by creating and producing various different fundraising and education initiatives to engage pupils and parents. We are delighted to announce that through various fundraising activities, the total funds MOV8 helped to raise was well over that £5,000 target. It was also achieved in just half the time that we predicted, with the original deadline being December 2015! Movember

November is the month of the moustache, with money being raised for the ‘Movember’ charity, in support of a variety of men’s health issues. Throughout November 2015, the MOV8 Mo’ Bros and Mo’ Sistas once again embraced it wholeheartedly! We wanted to let you know what a fantastic job our team has done, and update you on the amount that they raised, for this great cause. Our team managed to raise £235.83 for this fantastic cause. MOV8 Real Estate will also be matching the amount raised as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility commitment, bringing the total donated to this fantastic cause to £471.66. Macmillan Coffee Morning

In September, the MOV8 team took part in Macmillan Cancer Support’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning. We added our own twist to things by encouraging our team to dress up as characters from Alice in Wonderland, because we love any excuse to dress up and make fools of ourselves for a great cause! By the end of the day we managed to raise £152 between our three offices, so a massive well done to our team for achieving this! Again, as part of its Corporate and Social Responsibility commitment, MOV8 matched the amount raised, making the final total £304. Cash for Kids Superhero Day

Superhero Day flew in to the MOV8 offices on 15th May. Created by the charity, Cash For Kids, the day saw superheros up and down the country raising money for this great cause. As well as having great fun in the office we managed to raise £148.10 for Cash For Kids. Cash For Kids is a national charity that gives grants to local community groups working with disadvantaged children and young people. Click here to see our heroic team in action!

MOV8 Shortlisted for Scottish Legal Awards

In January 2015, MOV8 Real Estate was shortlisted as a finalist in both of the categories that we entered for the Scott & Co Legal Awards 2015; Community Contribution and Employer of the Year. It was an honour to be shortlisted among other fantastic legal firms and for our commitment to the wider community and to our staff to be recognised!
