Property Market Update October 2019

September From the Agent’s Point of View

Commenting on the month’s property news and statistics, MOV8 Real Estate’s Managing Director, Robert Carroll, stated:

“While the news continues to be full of commentary about Brexit, it’s clear from recent statistics that the property market in Scotland continues to demonstrate that property sellers and buyers in Scotland are going about their daily business as usual.

“The average selling price across Scotland was up 1% compared to the same period last year with Glasgow coming out on top at a 3.7% rise. Glasgow continues to outpace the rest of Scotland in terms of average selling price.

“Glasgow also saw the highest volume of recorded sales in August 2019, followed by Fife. The volume of sales in Edinburgh and the Lothians continued to be very strong, up by 6.3% compared to the same period last year with the number of properties coming to the market also up by 1%.

“As the Brexit deadline approaches, all of the key indicators point to the fact that it is causing no slow-down in the Scottish property market.”
