Corstorphine Primary School Christmas Poster Competition

Corstorphine Primary School Christmas Poster Competition

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas…and what better way to kick off the festive season than with our very own hand-drawn Christmas greeting?

On Friday, 28 November we had the pleasure of announcing the winner of our Christmas poster competition. Many of you will know that, as well as donating half of the funds needed, we have been working alongside Corstorphine Primary School to help them raise the remaining money required to build the kids a new playground.

This poster competition was the first in a programme of events and tasks designed to encourage the children to raise money for their playground and teach them new skills.

Children throughout the school were invited to participate in the competition. They were each asked to design a poster wishing the residents of Corstorphine a very happy Christmas. Entry cost £1, with all funds going directly to ‘Project Play’ at the school.

We received 192 entries and they were all fabulous! But there can only be one winner. That winner was Freya Brown, 6. Freya’s poster will be in our window until 6 January. Click on the link below to see pictures of Freya and her winning design! Our wee scan of it below doesn’t do it justice: the glitter and gold stars had to be seen to be appreciated!
